While some of the world is getting a bit better at phasing out single-use plastics, this directory is meant to be avoiding ALL plastics, not even reusable plastics, and even using paper tape instead of plastic tape for cardboard packaging, Ideally every material from these websites is completely recyclable or compostable, but if materials like natural rubber or silicone is needed to phase out plastics, they may be acceptable in minimal amounts so long as they don't micro/nano-leech biologically-harmful material.
So please message us if one of the websites we have listed here is using or sending plastics, plant-based plastics, or excessive non-recycleables/non-compostable so we can take it off our list.
Any plastic-free websites are welcome to this list, but for now we won't list any websites that use plant based plastics as a precaution. It's a work in progress so this isn't an exhaustive list yet but if you know of one or more companies that aren't here yet and you would like to help build this directory as a free public resource, then visit their website to make sure they don't send plastics and then email their website(s) to HR@thefutureawareness.com so we can take a look and get them added!
We believe It is possible to be a sustainable human, so don't let anyone's political narrative fool you into thinking otherwise!
But also, please keep in mind that avoiding plastics/synthetics, and any other materials that are in question of being biologically-harmful is not the only rule we need to adhere to in order to be a sustainable version of humanity!
We also need to get the PPM(parts per million) of C02 in the atmosphere back to a stable level, about 150-250PPM(pre-industrial levels), we could also reduce methane emissions by consuming less beef or opting for meats that have a healthy diet, similarly, we could also be restoring aerobic soil conditions with permaculture microbiology to support sequestration instead of tilling every year, which causes anaerobic conditions, and we could strive to avoid having more than 2 kids per 2 parents as a general rule of thumb with adoption options in mind, at least until we globally ban ecologically-destabilizing pollutants like leeching synthetics, excess C02 emissions, and switch the agriculture and energy infrastructure to cleaner/less-stressful technologies like organic farming, indoor vertical farming, aquaponics, geothermal, solar, solar-thermal, wind, hydroelectric, etc.
A rule of thumb is to follow the 'Sustainability Hierarchy' or what we call the B.S.E. Standard:
Habitat/ECOlogy/Biology 1st, People/Equity/Opportunity/Social 2nd, Money/Capitalism/ECOnomics 3rd
And only in that order! It makes you wonder what companies really mean when they say they are ECO-Friendly!
And anyway, It's what someone one in a scientifically sustainable mind would do if they had to make a non-changing legislative system, it might not be popular at first, but it's what sustainability and eco-friendly is supposed to mean!
And then after all that, if we can get global cooperation to switch to low or non-polluting methods, then we can look at other factors and reassess the situation to see what our options are to collectively prosper, thrive, have fun, and even push the frontiers while insuring indefinite sustainability for Earth and future planets.
